Our Story
-
What began as a humble tent revival on the corner of Reynolds Avenue and 32nd Street grew into the First Assembly of God in Niceville under the leadership of Rev. Charlie Pendleton. Rev. George Skipper later served as pastor for 29 years, leading the church until his retirement in 1993.
-
Rev. Phil Daniels joined the church as youth pastor and was appointed lead pastor in 1993. Pastor Phil retired in October 2025 after 40 years of faithful ministry at Generations United.
-
Pastor Tommy Brown served as youth pastor from 2001–2008 and stepped into the role of Lead Pastor in 2025.
-
Generations United became One Church, marking a new season in our story. While our name changed, our mission remained the same: to see just one more person encounter God, experience belonging, and make a difference. One Church reflects our heart to be one family, united by one Savior and one mission.
Watch Pastor Tommy share the heart and vision behind becoming One Church.
Our Beliefs
-
We believe in one eternal God, Creator of all things, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, and has existed forever.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19) -
We believe Jesus is the Son of God, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross, and rose again. Through His life, death, and resurrection, we are offered forgiveness, salvation, and relationship with God.
(Matthew 1:18–23; Hebrews 7:26; Matthew 28:1–6) -
We believe the Holy Spirit is given to every believer. He produces spiritual fruit in our lives and empowers us with spiritual gifts designed to strengthen our faith and build up the Church.
(Galatians 5:22–23; 1 Corinthians 12:1–11) -
We believe the Bible is inspired by God and is our authority for truth and life. Through Scripture, God reveals Himself and guides us in how we are to live.
(2 Timothy 3:16)
-
We believe people were created in the image of God for relationship with Him. Though sin separated us from God, Jesus made a way for us to be restored through His death and resurrection.
(Genesis 1:27; Romans 5:8) -
We believe faith is meant to be lived in community. We gather together for worship, prayer, communion, and spiritual growth. We also practice water baptism by immersion as a public declaration of faith in Jesus.
(Matthew 28:19; Luke 22:19–20) -
We believe the Church is not a building but a people. As the body of Christ, we are called to worship God, share the message of Jesus, and help others grow in their faith.
(1 Corinthians 12:12–27; Ephesians 4:11–16) -
We believe Jesus will reign forever and will judge His creation with justice and mercy. Those who have found salvation through Jesus Christ will enjoy His presence forever.
(Revelation 21:1–4)
